A/ Fellowship with Peer Support Group Meetings: GrGroup Meetings:

CDAD sponsors a fellowship of doctorate level health care professionals, “Colleagues in Recovery”, who meet regularly to share their experience, strength and hope with each other, so they may solve their common problem of addiction. The only requirement for membership is a desire or need to stop using mind-altering chemicals. Our primary purpose is to remain clean and sober and help others recover from chemical dependency.

B/ Free Membership with Confidentiality and Anonymity Maintained:

There are no dues or fees for membership. We are supported in part* by the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) and the Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS). We do not report to them in any way, and confidentiality and anonymity are maintained. Neither are we allied with any political and religious organization.

C/ Voluntary Participation with Therapeutic Aim:

Participation in the CDAD Program is voluntary and may avoid the embarrassment and costs, including the suspension or loss of the license to practice dentistry that result from public exposure. The aim is 100% pro-active & therapeutic.
 

D/ No Public Exposure:

CDAD is independent from the Board of Registration in Dentistry  (BORID) and the Massachusetts Professional Recovery System (MPRS), which monitor and discipline those professionals reported to the licensing boards.

E/ Availability of Collegial Help at Multiple Meeting Locations:

CDAD is composed of dentists who have overcome their substance abuse problems and sponsors peer support meetings in several geographically convenient locations in Massachusetts.
